Air Fryer Rouladen Rolls (Printable version)

Plant-based rouladen rolls with smoky bacon and dill pickles, cooked quickly in an air fryer.

# What You'll Need:

→ Beef Substitute

01 - 1.1 lb plant-based beef strips or thinly sliced seitan

→ Filling

02 - 4 slices smoked bacon or plant-based bacon
03 - 2 medium dill pickles, quartered lengthwise
04 - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
05 - 2 tbsp German or Dijon mustard

→ Seasoning

06 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
07 - 1 tsp paprika (optional)

→ For Securing & Cooking

08 - 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for brushing)
09 - Toothpicks or small skewers

# Directions:

01 - Lay the plant-based beef strips flat and spread each with a thin layer of mustard.
02 - Top each strip with a slice of bacon, a few onion slices, and a pickle quarter.
03 - Season with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and paprika if using. Roll each strip tightly and secure the seam with toothpicks or small skewers.
04 - Lightly brush the outside of each roll with vegetable oil to ensure even browning.
05 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
06 - Place the rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes, turn them over, then cook for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until browned and heated through.
07 - Remove toothpicks before serving. Serve hot with preferred side dishes.
