Air Fryer Margherita Cheese (Printable version)

# What You'll Need:

01 - 4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
02 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
03 - 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
04 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

→ Vegetables & Herbs

05 - 1 medium ripe tomato, thinly sliced
06 - 8 fresh basil leaves, torn

→ Sauces & Seasonings

07 - 4 tablespoons pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
08 - 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
09 - Salt, to taste
10 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# Directions:

01 - Evenly spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Place two bread slices buttered side down on a cutting surface.
03 - Apply 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce onto each bread slice.
04 - Distribute mozzarella slices, tomato slices, and torn basil leaves evenly over the sauce.
05 - Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper over the layers.
06 - Cover each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
07 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 2 minutes.
08 - Arrange sandwiches in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 4 minutes, flip, and air fry for another 4 minutes until golden and cheese melts.
09 - Allow sandwiches to cool slightly. Slice and serve immediately.
